The event was attended by 200 State Parks supporters who celebrated our great Parks and honored the twelve years of service on the Commission by both Mickey Fearn and Robert Petersen whose terms expired at the end of 2008.
Governor Chris Gregoire presented the Foundation's 2009 Corporate Partner Award to The Boeing Company. Boeing provided the Foundation with a $100,000 grant to help restore valuable salmon habitat on a two mile stretch of the Chehalis River and Rock Creek in Lewis County that was damaged by the December storm of 2007 and the resulting extensive flooding.
Governor Gregoire also presented the 2009 Foundation Partner Award to the Tagney-Jones Family Trust who provided a $15,000 challenge grant to the Foundation to help restore the tidepools at Rosario Beach in Deception Pass State Park on Whidbey Island.
