Lime Kiln Point

Lime Kiln IconOrca WhalesSituated on the west side of San Juan Island, Lime Kiln State Park is considered one of the best places in the world to view whales. Orcas are frequently sighted in the waters off Lime Kiln.

A generous donation from longtime Washington Secretary of State Ralph Munro and his wife Karen helped fund the construction of a whale viewing platform and interpretive center at the park.

The 36-acre day use park features a richly diverse environment along rocky shoreline and wooded uplands, including the remnants and landscapes of a history filled with change.
